I don't actually know what kinda help I'm looking for, but seeing as how you're the only person I know who's part of a comedy troupe, maybe you could just toss some hints my way or something. I'd pay--with love.
I'm gonna be in a skit for a friend, where an annoying mime, played by me, gets beaten up. Now I'm fine with telling really bad jokes to make people laugh, but I have zero experience when it comes to tickling folks without a word.
If you could offer any suggestions other than not to piss off the guy who plays the person beating me up, that'd be sooooo cool.
Thanks in advance!

I'm not an actor (well, not anymore anyway if you count drama club) but do you have any idea what the skit is about?

For safety, choreograph as much of the fight as you can with the guy that will be beating you up. You both should know what you're doing so no one accidentally gets hurt. Practice it in slow motion and then slowly speed it up. Don't worry about making a really intricate fight scene where you could possibly forget what comes next.
With that out of the way...
Since you're a mime, work out what your face is going to look like. Mime's each have unique face make-up. Again, go for simplicity but work off the features of your own face. It kind of depends on your body type, but where something that will accentuate your body type. For me, I'm really skinny and long-limbed, so when I wear tight-fitting clothes where I can flail my arms and legs around, it usually works better. Looser, more baggy clothes kind of hide what's going on. And they can snag or get caught on something and could throw things off.
Again, since you're a mime, the whole thing is obviously supposed to be ridiculous. So don't hold back. Be as exaggerated and big as you want. Make huge faces. If you get punched in the face, open your mouth and eyes really big, or wince real tight from the pain. Once or twice, very deliberately, check your mouth for blood and smudge a dab of your make-up off with a finger or two, look at it, and then react to it as if it's blood. Not everyone will catch that, but those that do will hopefully appreciate it.
Also, use invisible weapons to fight back. You can then decide whether to have your attacker affected by the mime weapons or not. Whichever way the two of you decide to go, stick with it. If he isn't affected by your weapons, keep trying different weapons, and he'll just casually walk through them and keep pummeling you.
Again, be very deliberate with pulling out the weapon so people know what it is. And make the weapons very unique. Unsheath a huge samurai sword. Pull out a long rope and try to lasso him up like a cowboy. Shake up a bottle of seltzer water and spray him with it. Try to lock him up in a box. Roll a bowling ball at him. You can go on and on.
I don't know, does any of this help?

I think your description is quite amusing, Corey. I can easily picture a mime trying to fight back with weapons with no effect...silly mimes. I also pictured the guy fighting the mime miming a weapon that does affect the mime, however.

That would be a good way to end it. Have the guy pull out a mime gun and shoot the mime to finish him off.

Thanks a lot, Corey.
This really was pretty helpful and there's so much there that I didn't think of. Hopefully, with all my acting ability (i.e. none whatsoever), your advice will show in the end result.
And that mime award skit? Brilliant! Of course, I have a disturbing need to see mimes suffer--even if it's at the hands of other mimes.

Awesome, glad it was helpful. Let us know how it goes over. And make sure there are pictures!
And I'm glad you liked the mime award video!

The shoot went great! My friend's gonna upload it on YouTube soon and there'll be pictures of me getting all dolled up too, so I'll show it to you guys when it's all ready.

Awesome pictures! Those last few in particular. Great commitment to character, too.
If you're ever in LA (or I'm ever in Singapore) we'll have to come up with a sketch for you to guest in.

That sounds great. We enjoyed making it and I might be starring in a few more shorts (camwhore that I am).
