I'm sure most of these will be unknown to you, but there are some fine comics nominated for this year's Ignatz Awards, which are meant to recognize comics that "challenge popular notions of what comics can achieve, both as an art form and as a means of personal expression." More and more, this is the kind of work that's interesting me in comics.
I've seen Aya and it looks amazing. Delphine is wonderful. The End wasn't my favorite from Coconico Press (an amazing imprint) but it was still pretty good. And of course Love & Rockets and Optic Nerve are pretty established as amazing.
