So today I was taking some pictures with my digital camera, and I dropped the motherfucker. And now, while it still powers on and lets me view the photos I've taken, the zoom is busted and won't go in or out, and will not let me take any pictures at all.
And I'm probably not crazy in thinking that won't be covered by the camera's warranty! Lol!
I'm so screwed. Of course this happens right before Christmas. So I want to have a camera to take pictures this weekend when I'm with my family, but I also have no money. I guess I'll buy a replacement using my credit card.
Ironically I was about to buy a replacement battery charger (lithium battery) for the camera because I appear to have lost the one that came with it. I guess it's a good thing I didn't pay the $80 for the replacement, since I'll get one with the new camera I have to buy. And now I'll have a spare battery, which is always nice (I was contemplating getting one anyway!). And I've already got the carry case, and the memory card, so the purchase this time won't cost as much as when I first got the camera.
Maybe they'll have one with more zoom! Hmm....I guess this is 'Merry Christmas to myself' this year.

Sorry to hear that, But like you said, at least you didn't shell out for the replacement already.

D'oh.
You might be able to get the warranty to cover it, though. You should try. Maybe just leave out the part about dropping it.

I purchased it in July. And, too late. I already bought the replacement. I'm not good at lying about the dropping it part. I mean, the zoom lens was stuck halfway in and halfway out. I'm sure if they inspected it they could tell that it had sustained physical damage, and I really didn't want to be one of 'those people' who pretend they didn't do the damage themselves. I guess I'm just too honest! Anyway, I ended up getting the exact same camera...not a whole lot of options for what I wanted (wanted to stick with the Olympus brand). At least it dropped in price $70!
