I did actually. It was just OK. Nothing terrible but nothing special. Maybe my expectations were too high. I thought there was a lot of moving characters around without any motivation. The best quips were about mid-level Whedon quips from past shows. Sets and blue screens were surprisingly obvious. I'll take it over Smallville any day but I was hoping for more. It's just the pilot though so there's hope for improvement.

I'd also like to add that he's loosing his touch with subtlety. At least three story arcs for down the road were given special moments (Ward's family connections, May's reason for leaving the field and Coulson's survival), some of which he might as well have used a sledgehammer for.

Yeah that and the comic book references ("No, this is the origin story" or whatever that line was) were a bit much.

I agree with everything said here. The pilot was worth giving the show a second chance, but the second episode was pretty bad. I lost all interest in watching any of the others.

I'm in a strange spot with this show now. I enjoy it as I'm watching it, but as the critical brain cell wake up, it gets weird. This week seemed to almost be an apology for what the show won't be able to give (Mutants). Simmons seems to just have been added to balance out the genders, so "Fitzsimmons" really might as well be one character. And even my brother is getting annoyed with the lack of common sense from those two.

Honestly, it seems like the only thing driving this show is the mystery behind Coulson's resurrection and Melinda May kicking ass. Other than that, I don't really care for any of the characters and, I swear, the only reason I'm watching it is the fact that it's an MCU show.

Wonder how long they can stretch both of those plot lines out. Any guesses about Coulson? Personally, I'm leaning towards LMD with Coulson's memory implanted.

Yeah I haven't bothered to watch any others.
LMD is the theory I see the most among fans, which means they need to come up with something better than that.

I didn't feel like starting a new thread, and despite a few corny (but knowing the creator, possibly intentionally so) the show is growing on me. But, the reason I'm posting. A Hindu group has taken offense to a throwaway line where a character hypothesizes that, like Thor, Vishnu could be an alien. They demand an apology, and that proper information be posted online about Hinduism. I wonder if they have ever watched South Park. And I wouldn't be surprised if this is the same group that threw a fit when Xena travelled through India. Anyway, is there such a thing as being TOO politically correct?
